A 3 day workshop on 3D Design, 3D Printing and CNC Milling has been organized by Fab Lab IUB from November 30 to December 2 in 2017. This workshop was held at the Center for Cognitive Skill Enhancement (CCSE) with kind permission from Dr. Ali Shihab Sabbir, Director of CCSE. Some of the resources used in the workshop (3D printer, CNC milling machine and high configured computers) were provided by the CCSE lab. Tauseef Anwar, coordinator of Fab Lab Dhaka, along with 6 other experts carried out the workshop. Total 12 participants, combining Tech Gurus and the Lab Operators from 8 different Fab Labs of Bangladesh participated in the workshop. Some of the software packages and simulators used in the workshop are: Fusion 360, Solid Works, Cura, and Prusa. This workshop was a great opportunity to get familiar with some useful tools (3D printer, CNC milling machine etc.) and to learn about different fabrication techniques. Skills acquired by the participants from this workshop can be useful in future for prototyping innovative ideas into actual meaningful products.
